"Manufacturers often are convinced that they can only generate more output with new and faster production equipment. But in most cases, our on-site analyses show that a process reorientation is all that is needed to increase productivity. An in-depth analysis is well worth the cost at any rate, because with it hidden potential can be easily uncovered."
Meinrad Engeler, ASE
Increasing cost pressures, ever-shorter delivery deadlines and continually increasing demands on quality all pose a real challenge to producers. Optimized processes are a key success factor. Using stochastic methods and simulations, we can, for example, compute the maximum production rate, the breakdown risk of individual components or of an entire system, as well as the material and labor requirements. Our production services can be broken down into three areas of application:
We test production concepts starting with the planning phase. We can virtually visualize, test and optimize the production plant before it is built. Using business plans, manufacturer and supplier data, we can also identify critical bottlenecks, predict production rates, throughput times and unit costs. Our sensitivity analyses allow us to determine if and in which form it makes sense to expand, or whether a minor adjustment to the system is enough to make a difference. This considerably reduces investment risks.
Using simulations, we investigate dynamic inter-dependencies between numerous production factors. It is often the case that a minor adjustment to the configuration of the machines can increase the efficiency of an entire plant. Nonetheless, we determine precisely which production factors need to be enhanced in order to achieve disproportionate results. For us, process optimization always means keeping an eye on the overall system. We make changes in system processes only to the extent that they do not require alterations in other places.
We use analyses and simulations to generate demand forecasts and then calculate the ideal ordering volume for the warehouse. We identify seasonal fluctuations, trends or lulls in incoming orders ahead of time and provide demand-based scheduling plans for personnel and material – allowing our clients to work in a highly cost-efficient manner.
