"We are able to automatically and continuously measure visitor flows. In contrast to manually calculated pedestrian frequencies, we can provide more precise data at lower cost. These data allow us to calculate the utilization rates of various pathways and to document the effectiveness of construction changes using a simulation. This offers interesting applications, above all for store owners. Based on the pedestrian traffic frequency, we can show you which steps you can take to increase pedestrian flow past display windows, how various measures can reduce waiting times at check-out counters or how staff scheduling plans can be adjusted to fit the statistically anticipated customer frequency."

Pedestrian flows meander around buildings and structures. The location of an object therefore has an influence on pedestrian frequencies and capacities. By means of digital frequency measurements we can forecast what effect various construction measures will have on pedestrian flow. Our analyses are of interest to building designers, urban planners and also store owners. Evacuation scenarios for large buildings, pedestrian capacities at intersections or selecting the ideal location for a store in a shopping district are only a few of the practical areas of application. We offer the following services for these sorts of questions:
We measure pedestrian frequencies in shopping centers, main streets or shopping districts. Pedestrian density, speed of passage and stopping areas can be measured and registered for various time periods. This also allows us to calculate the ideal location for an entryway and its capacity to encourage the maximum number of customers to enter a store without causing congestion, either at the entrance or at the check-out counters. A location analysis also allows optimal staff planning to meet anticipated customer volume.
Simulations allow us to forecast how successful a change of location will be in relation to pedestrian frequency. Thanks to special tools we are aware of quantitative location factors or the mixture and density of shops and businesses in certain commercial zones. These help us identify ideal locations for stores, locations which are highly frequented by target groups or ones in which the competition is barely represented.
Public buildings are high-traffic areas which nonetheless need to be evacuated quickly in the event of emergency. Using evacuation simulations, we can identify potential congestion zones and test the capacity of stairways, passageways and doors already during the planning phase. Optimizing the flow of passers-by is a key factor in customer attractiveness for shopping centers: customers want mobility – without waiting times or crowding. These scenarios make our analyses especially valuable.
