ASE – Your partner for technical installation maintenance

"Protecting investments in technical installations by extending their operating life or avoiding breakdowns and their follow-up costs on the one hand, and the desire to save on maintenance and replacement of equipment on the other, are conflicting goals. But this conflict can be resolved. What is needed is a reliable inventory management for system-relevant components, a precise analysis of the possibilities for breakdowns and a great deal of know-how during implementation of the maintenance policy. ASE's know-how helps clients to clarify the specific details behind the conflicting goals, to analyze them and find a solution to the problem using appropriate strategies and IT resources."

ASE and maintenance of technical equipment

A well thought-out maintenance strategy increases the reliability of technical installations while simultaneously lowering costs. The goal is a risk-based optimization of resources for maintenance and replacement as well as finding an advantageous balance between effective maintenance costs and potential breakdown costs. We use our know-how to develop maintenance strategies that meet these demands. This guarantees a high degree of reliability and reduces breakdowns along with their with high repair, follow-up and image costs. Our services for maintaining technical installations can be divided into three phases:

Analysis

All system-relevant components are analyzed and inventoried. We calculate breakdown potential as well as damage, follow-up and maintenance costs along with various other key factors. To build this knowledge base, we use either existing data, conduct data mining if needed, or collect the information ourselves. Based on the insights we gain, we can quantify the expected damage and calculate the efforts necessary to adequately limit them.

Defining a maintenance policy

Based on its relevance for the system, we define a specific maintenance policy for each component and employ this to derive a maintenance cycle. This guarantees a high degree of reliability and reduces breakdowns with high repair, follow-up and image costs. Operators of technical installations also obtain an overview of which jobs are due and which materials need to be replaced or re-ordered. This creates planning security in scheduling staff and materials.

Implementation

We formulate the maintenance policy and implement it if desired. Thanks to our long years of experience in process design and IT engineering we are in a position to implement tools and processes in any setting. We develop sustainable integration concepts and individual IT solutions with seamless data migration. For implementation we recommend our in-house developed EMS (Equipment Maintenance System) software tool, which has already been successfully installed by several Swiss cantonal administrations for infrastructure maintenance. We also have in-depth knowledge of other tools and base our choice on the client's requirements.

Typical questions we can answer in the area of maintenance

  • What is the ideal maintenance cycle with regard to cost efficiency and reliability?
  • Which equipment will I have to shut down for repair and when in order to keep the overall system as productive as possible?
  • Which replacements parts will I need to order and from where so that they arrive on time to be installed?
  • What is the exact value of my equipment at the current time?
